To ensure a consistently high level of safety in civil aviation, experts from the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) conducted 39 in-depth aircraft inspections in 2024. These were carried out both randomly and based on priority criteria. The inspections covered aircraft from the European Union and European Economic Area, as well as third-country aircraft, to verify their compliance with international flight safety standards. The results of last year’s inspections indicate a downward trend in the number of identified non-compliances, which correlates with the decreased number of third-country aircraft arriving in Latvia.
