PEL, on behalf of the CAA, shall designate and authorize suitably qualified persons as examiners whose primary responsibility is to conduct the GK LAL flight proficiency tests, qualification and competency checks.

Process description

  1. submission of an application and recommendation
    A person meeting the requirements of Part FCL, Section K, Section FE of Part BFCL, Section FE of Part SFCL or MK Regulation No 762, as a candidate for an examiner or an older examiner, shall initially submit an application and a recommendation letter (from the operator or organisation) requesting that his or her nomination be examined for the performance of the duties of CAA examiner/expert

  2. conformity assessment
    PEL / MEVI or another designated inspector performs an initial assessment of the candidate by checking the submitted documents, qualifications and assigns the required amount of training;
    If the candidate's qualifications are appropriate, PEL / MEVI or another designated inspector shall submit the application form for approval to the following persons, who shall accept or reject the candidate with their signature:
    - PEL / MEV;
    - PEL / SV;
    - PEL / V;
    - Head of GK ED;
    - Director of the CAA.

  3. subsequent conformity assessment
    If a candidate is rejected, the CAA shall inform the operator/organisation/candidate in writing (the author of the recommendation letter), stating the reasons for the rejection. Only the candidate to whom the letter is sent shall be informed of the specific reasons for the rejection. The documents submitted by the candidate remain in the CAA and are placed in the personal file of the candidate.
    If the candidate meets all the conditions, then:
    - CAA shall inform the candidate and the operator/organisation;
    - the CAA sends out the application form of the applicant to the ATO/DTO in which the training will be carried out;
    - the ATO/DTO shall confirm receipt of documents in the form of e-mail.

  4. issuance of a certificate
    The candidate goes through an examiner's course. After the course, the applicant CAA shall submit documents demonstrating successful completion of the course.
    An examiner's certificate shall be issued on the basis of the documents submitted and a positive examination conclusion.
