According to the government decision, the requirement to enter Latvia with an interoperable COVID-19 vaccination or recovery certificate or a negative COVID-19 test result remains in force from 1 March 2022. At the same time, the requirement to fill in covidpass.lv has been cancelled, while the requirement to self-isolate after entry has been cancelled as of 16 February 2022.

From 1 March 2022, no significant reason will be required to enter Latvia. At the same time, the control of travellers’ interoperable certificates and test results will continue by ensuring the same requirements for travellers regardless of the country of entry. Travellers, including those with an interoperable recovery or vaccination certificate, retain the opportunity to undergo a voluntary, state-paid COVID-19 test at the Riga International Airport upon arrival.

At the same time, the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control will carry out a risk assessment to identify countries where the risks of COVID-19 spread are very high and pose a risk to public health. To enter from such, especially high-risk countries, a significant reason will be required and an additional COVID-19 test will be required in Latvia. Currently, there are no such countries identified. More detailed information on the website of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
